Health officials told the committee that all the 47 reported cases in the UAE had been fully treated and discharged from hospitals with 20 new patients making a full recovery.
The committee instructed the health ministry to publish an update on the virus every Monday and to push ahead with initiatives to spread awareness about the disease.
The minister also toured an exhibition organised at the Marina Mall Abu Dhabi by the ministry in association with the health authorities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The event aims to raise public awareness about preventive and curative approaches to the disease.
